Class descriptions
and levels
Ballet (beginner)
In the hour-long beginner class, we will slowly progress through the basics of ballet: posture, established positions, open rotation technique, musicality, and use of space. Previous dance experience is not required.
Ballet (intermediate)
The intermediate technique class (90 min) provides a comprehensive yet analytical ballet training. This class is designed for dancers who have a few years of dance experience or more, but enjoy a leisurely pace, detailed instruction, and exposure to new movements.
Ballet (advanced)
Advanced professional technique classes (90 min) allow you to train with professionals and at their level. The class progresses quickly from exercise to another and develops the dancer in a variety of ways. The class is designed for dancers who have years of ballet experience or at least a great desire to challenge themselves, including long sets, varying tempos, and challenging movements.

Pointe technique (open level)
In these half-an-hour pointe classes, we practice the art of standing on our toes. The class is designed for both beginner and more experienced pointe dancers. The main focus is on learning safe technique and developing ankle endurance. The entire class can be performed using a barre, but as you gain skill, you can also move on to center exercises.
Open level repertoire, non-performing group
This class introduces the classical repertoire and practices new choreographies in a non-pressured environment. We practice simple classical choreographies for our own enjoyment, as this group does not participate in performances. The class is held after the intermediate technique class on Saturdays and lasts 60 minutes.
Intermediate-advanced level repertoire, performing group
This class is a deep dive into the world of classical repertoire! In this intermediate-professional class we practice the chorus scenes of great ballet classics in their original form. Pointe work is encouraged, but it is not a requirement for participation. We expect the dancers to commit to participating in performances, which are a few per year. We also offer opportunities to participate in competitions and festivals. The class is held immediately after the advanced technique class on Sundays and lasts 60 minutes. Additional rehearsals may be available as potential performances approach.

Variation coaching (advanced-professional)
You can apply for variation coaching through Casualbutpro's selection test, where a maximum of five dancers are selected for the training group. The group is intended for those who work on their classical variation throughout the season and participate in competitions and performances with it. We can also train the dancer for auditions. Our small variation group is ideal for dance professionals, those studying and aspiring to become a professional, but also for talented amateurs who want to learn performing soloist parts.
Character dance (open level)
The classes introduce the basics of character dance and its characteristic styles. The classes begin with barre sequences in the style of classical ballet, after which the classes move to more mobile and dance-like sections on the center. Character shoes or other similar low-heeled dance shoes that do not leave marks on the dance mat are recommended for the classes. Previous experience in character dance is not required, but we recommend the classes especially for those who already have experience in classical ballet.

Body Conditioning (open level)
This efficient, one hour long class is for anyone who is interested in improving their dance technique through exercises that support posture, strength, flexibility and balance. The class is a mix of floor barre, pilates and yoga based exercises and strength training. The class is an open class and suitable for dancers of all levels. It is an excellent way to wake up your body and mind on a Sunday and also works perfectly as a warm up before the advanced level ballet technique class.
